The Governor of the Communications and Information Technology Commission (CITC), pursuant to what was stated in the Telecommunications Act, its Bylaw and the Ordinance of the Communications and Information Technology Commission;
After reviewing what was stated in Chapter Seven of the Telecommunications Bylaw, and what was stated in the CITC Decision No. (96/1426) dated 12/07/1426 H, which included the approval of what was stated in the letter of Saudi Telecommunications Company (STC) No. (1639) dated 07/08/1426H, on the comments of the STC on the separation between the Gitaf program and AL JAWAL awards;
Pursuant to what was stated in the CITC Statutes and decisions and in the separation between accounts and price ceilings document, providing for the separation between the various services provided by the dominant service provider to ensure that there is no cross-subsidy between the services provided in a competitive climate and those provided in an uncompetitive atmosphere, and
For the public interest,
Hereby decides:
Article One:
Saudi Telecommunications Company shall separate Gitaf program awards between the fixed and mobile telephones; and cease the points exchange between the two (mobile and fixed) services for the new subscribers in the program as of the date of this Decision, and amend the situation for those who have accumulated points before, allowing them to benefit from such accumulated points between the two services within a period not exceeding six months from the date hereof.
Article Two
STC shall publish the above required amendments pursuant to Article Forty Eight of the Telecommunications Bylaw.
Article Three
This Decision shall be communicated to Saudi Telecommunications Company and the concerned parties to act accordingly. This program will be reviewed six months after date hereof.
