The Governor of the Communications and Information Technology Commission, pursuant to what was stated in the Telecommunications Act, its Bylaw and the Ordinance of the Communications and Information Technology Commission, after reviewing what was stated in Chapter Seven of the Telecommunications Bylaw, and to what was stated in the letter of Saudi Telecommunications Company No. (136) dated 18/01/1426H on request for approving for provisioning a new service under the name of (VPN).
(Decides the following)
Article One:
Approval for the Saudi Telecommunications Company to provide the (VPN) service in accordance with the Tariff and pursuant to the following principles:
- This service shall be provided to bodies with independent juridical personality only, and mandating those bodies to undertake to restrict usage of this service to its staff
- The (Off-net) to (VAN) Charges shall be paid by the owning body of the (VAN) network as stipulated in Clause (b) of the proposal
- Access to this network shall be restricted through the fixed telephone only and not to allow access through mobile or free phones
Article Two:
The Saudi Telecommunications Company shall publish the approved amendments pursuant to the Terms of Article Forty Eight of the Telecommunications Bylaw.
Article Three:
This Decision shall be communicated to Saudi Telecommunications Company and the concerned parties to act accordingly as of the date of its issuance.
