A royal decree has been issued by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah Bin Abdul-Aziz appointing Eng. Abdullah bin Abdul-Aziz Al-Darrab as the Governor of Communication and Information Technology Commission. Al-Darrab graduated from California State University in Sacramento. He started his career in the ministry of Post, Telegraph and Telephone in the field of Electrical and Electronic engineering Al-Darrab has assumed several administrative and technical positions in the ministry, before joining CITC in 2002 as the Deputy Governor ofTechnical Affairs, where he has since served. Al-Darrab represented the kingdom in many international conferences and was selected as vice chairman of the largest study group (SG-8) in the ITU radio communication sector for 10 successive years starting from 1990. Al-Darrab also chaired the Saudi delegation to the information society's negotiating meetings and was also selected by the UNSG as a member in the Internet Governance's Working group which includes 40 experts from various countries around the world. Al-Darrab is also a member of many national committees, the president of the national committee of Information society and the steering committee for e-government transactions program.
