Headed by the Deputy Governor for The Communications and Information Technology Commission, Majid Al Maziad, The Kingdom presided a meeting in the International Telecommunication Union that is involved with general international communication policies. Which started today in the ITU headquarters in Geneva. In attendance was the Secretary-General and his deputy.
A number of topics regarding general international policies were discussed during the meeting, like the effect of new technology, like artificial intelligence, and the means to enforce safety and security on the internet. Some countries have discussed regulations concerning artificial intelligence on a local and an international level, and it was concluded that the committee would lead the dialogue regarding this crucial topic. The committee also discussed the report coming from the Panel of Experts of the United Nations Secretary- General, which focused on five narratives: Building a thorough cyber society and economy, develop corporate and human capabilities, protecting human rights, encourage cyber culture, security, and stability, endorsing international cyber cooperation.
It is worth to mention that this committee is considered as one of the most important of the ITU, and is met with wide international attention.
