The Communications and Information Technology Commission held a training workshop entitled: “The Basics of the Domain Name System - DNS” in cooperation with the International Organization (ICANN) to enable and develop the Saudi domain name industry in the Kingdom, building capabilities and specialized skills in this field. The workshop also raises awareness of Internet services, protocols, and domain names for government agency representatives, authorized agents for registering Saudi domain names, and companies specialized in providing Internet services.
During the workshop, an introductory overview of the basic concepts of the Domain Name System (DNS) was provided.
The workshop also reviewed the settings of domain names hosting server, polling systems, and root files for domain names. It explained the sixth version of Internet addresses (IPv6), how to take advantage of the (DIG) scan tool, in addition to an understanding of the concept of (Reverse DNS) through practical applications of the domain name system.
