The Communications and Information Technology Commission (CITC) announces that by 3 p.m. local time Saturday May 11, 2013, which is the deadline to apply for Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO) licenses, five consortiums have applied for the licenses; as follows:

CITC will announce the results including successful applicants after evaluating each application according to the details previously published stated in the RFA document.
Licensing of MVNO) services is considered as an important step in the liberalization of the telecommunications market in Saudi Arabia, and is aimed at providing more choices for users of communications and information technology services. It is also expected to provide users with new applications and innovative services, improve customer care, and to encourage further new investment as well as providing additional opportunities for employment of young Saudis in this important sector.
