Communications and Information Technology Commission (CITC) announces that starting on Monday, May 13, 2013, the Riyadh region zone code (01) will be modified to (011). 

Both the old and new zone codes will be working in parallel for four weeks from the date of conversion. After that, only the new zone code will work.

When dialing the old zone code after the conversion, a recorded message will be heard in Arabic and English, informing the caller about the change.  

This change is carried out in phases. On Monday May 13, 2013, the Riyadh geographic area will be in the first stage of the conversion. On Sunday, Aug 18, 2013, this change will be applied to all other geographic areas of the Kingdom.
