​The Communications and Information Technology Commission (CITC) continues to pursue its goals of promoting competition, protecting the interests of users, and encouraging the provisioning of reliable and affordable communications and information technology services. CITC also seeks to foster  the rollout of broadband services based on Internet Protocol and Fiber Optic networks.

In view of the technological and market developments in ICT since the  current Interconnection Guidelines were issued in 2003, CITC has prepared draft updated Interconnection Guidelines and a draft of new Guidelines for Access to Physical Facilities, and is seeking public comments on these documents. Accordingly, CITC is pleased to announce that  it has published a Public Consultation document on the proposed Guidelines and invites all members of the public, including private individuals, public organizations and commercial entities (together, the “Participants”) to participate in this process.

In order to provide structure to the process, the consultation includes a series of questions. Participants are invited to provide answers to these questions along with any related comments. CITC encourages Participants to support their comments with relevant data, analysis, benchmarking studies and information. CITC is under no obligation to adopt the comments of any Participant.

All comments must be received by CITC no later than 3.00 p.m. on 13/4/1436 H, corresponding to 2/2/2015 G.
