The Communications and Information Technology Commission (CITC) published a public consultation on Spectrum Trading and Secondary Market. The purpose of this public consultation is to provide interested parties with an opportunity to submit their views on spectrum trading and associated secondary market activities.
As part of CITC’s mission to ensure reliable communications services and innovative digital technologies in the Kingdom, CITC previously launched its ‘Spectrum Outlook for Commercial and Innovative Use 2021-2023’ which includes the commission’s first step towards introducing spectrum trading in the kingdom. By introducing this approach in the kingdom, CITC aims to ensure that existing users benefit from their current assigned licenses while supporting market-led reassignment in order to optimize efficient use of spectrum in the Kingdom.
CITC is inviting all parties nationally and internationally including users, ICT providers, investors, industrial and public entities to provide their feedback and comments by 30 August 2021.
